Various and Sundry Things: DIY Eying

I love the idea of DIY projects, but it is very rare that I decide that I am going to actually complete one. Maybe it is because I don’t have a whole lot of room in my one bedroom apartment to add new things. However I have come across a few DIY ideas that I wouldn’t take up too much room and would be great as additions in my home or as gifts. What are some DIY projects that you have been eyeing? Please share!

These mugs are so fun! What a great idea for a gift for a bridesmaid or a friends’s birthday. All it takes is a gold sharpie marker, bake at 350 for 30 min and let cool in the oven.

These recipes look delicious and refreshing. How great would it be to have a pitcher out while entertaining? I vote for the pineapple mint or the watermelon rosemary.

If you ask my husband we have too many platters in our apartment. He just doesn’t understand when we have our house it will take many platters to showcase the delicious dinners I will prepare for our dinner guests…This DIY chalkboard platter would be completely functional that way you don’t have to tell your guests what kind of cheese is on the plate, they can read it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Chalk Board Tray

I love IKEA, it’s both overwhelming and exciting at the same time. It think it is great that there are so many tutorial that show you how to “improve” your IKEA purchases. This one is my favorite. It takes a very simple book shelf and turns it into a very chic piece.

No one knows winter better than my friend Alex who lives in Minnesota. Her sugar scrub tutorial really inspires me to exfoliate! After reading this I don’t think I will ever buy sugar scrub again, I will just make my own!

  1. I’m going to try all of these! I love the idea of a gold sharpie instead of the normal black. And I made cucumber water this weekend but now am thinking I need to take it a step further with those flavors! Thanks for sharing!
