Various and Sundry Things: DIY Art #2

Happy Friday! This past week I took an art class Uncork’d Art in Georgetown. It was a ton of fun! I brought it as a Groupon, so I would highly recommend purchasing it if it comes around again-it was half off.

On their website there is a calendar that shows the schedule of paintings. You sign up based on which painting you want to create. However, if you are inspired by something else completely you are free to do as you wish. The class is two hours long, they serve wine, and play music while you paint. Check out my painting!

The empty canvas and set up when I arrived.

The inspiration, Van Gogh’s Almond Blossom.

Once I started painting the flowers it made me think of the Cherry Blossoms so I decided to stick with just the pink.

Final product versus inspiration. What do you think?!

  1. LOVE Melissa!!! I so want to do this with you sometime!!!!

    • Yes Yes! I want to go to the Dupont one we passed the other week. If I see another Groupon for Uncork’d I will let you know!!

      XO Melissa
