Dwellings: Houzz.com

We are currently on the hunt for a new apartment here in NYC. If you have ever experienced this very special experience you will probably use any combination of the following to describe such an endeavor: disheartening, disparaging, and last but not lease soul crushing. I was physically brought to tears on the street this past Monday. However, on a lighter note, amidst all this frustration I am looking forward to creating a home in a MUCH bigger space than the little shoebox in which I currently reside. My boyfriend came across this site Houzz.com when we first started our search and I have been OBSESSED with it ever since. The site essentially is a hybrid of a Pinterest and an online portfolio. You can search specific items like sofa table ideas and create an Ideabook which can be shared privately with specific members of Houzz.com or you can make them public. They also have a function where professionals can post projects they have designed which can be incorporated into other member’s Ieabooks. For those of us who blog it has some really great features that allow you to incorporate elements of the website into your blog with ease. Here is an example of one I put together for kitchen inspiration.

Have a great weekend!
