Threads: Warby Parker

With the dawn of a new year (Put the past on a shelve in 2012-Has a nice ring to it) there is no better time to get your affairs in order. Now is a great time to start off on a healthy note; make that appointment for the physical you have been putting off; stop squinting your eyes and get your eyes checked.  If it turns out you do need to get glasses skip the overpriced options at the opticians’ (say that 10 times fast) and opt for the more economical feel good brand Warby Parker.

Warby Parker was established on the thought of providing fashionable affordable eyewear while giving back to the community (Think Tom’s but for glasses). For every pair glasses sold WP provides a pair to a person in need.

How it works

There are two options for selecting your new spectacles. The first called Home Try-On allows you select up to five pairs of frames you like online and WP will ship to them to you for free. You will have then have fives days to try out the frames and can utilize their experts via Facebook to help you select the perfect pair. Once you have decided send back the glasses and order your favorite frames.

Home try on kit

The other option is to make an appointment to visit one of the 10 showroom locations across the country. Once there you have free range to try on as many pairs of frames that your heart may desire. If you find yourself unable to settle on a pair then your selection is left up to a vote of the staff. They will collectively decide how you will framing your face with one of these facial accessories.
